Placement of the machine
We suggest, if possible, that you position your machine so that the barista faces the customers when preparing espresso beverages. This placement provides several benefits:
It allows your baristas to maintain contact with customers during the preparation process
It shields from the customerís view the grinding and brewing areas, which tend to become messy with coffee grounds, spilled coffee and milk
It showcases the machine and your commitment to fine food and drink
Make sure you have enough room next to the machine to place the grinder and dump box.
Use and care of the machine
Mr. Espresso takes care of the machine installation for you. We will train you and your staff on its basic operations and functions. To make the most of your machine, we would like to offer some tips for keeping it in peak performing condition:
Make sure that your staff who will operate the machine attend the Mr. Espresso-led training session. After that, appoint your best barista to teach any newcomers.
Perform proper cleaning and maintenance on your machine. These procedures include: backflushing the groups daily with plain water and at least once a week with a good cleaning agent; soaking the portafilters, filter inserts, and dispersion screens in clean water nightly and in a strong cleaning solution weekly; rinsing everything clean every morning. Replace the grinder burrs every 600lbs. to 900 lbs. of coffee. Replace the filter inserts every 100,000 to 150,000 cups. Ensure that you have a reliable source of clean water. Hard water can affect taste and also cause build-up in the machine. We can help you find an appropriate treatment system, if necessary.
We are confident that you will soon discover the ease and pleasure of Mr. Espresso coffees and machines!
