In Italy, where Carlo Di Ruocco apprenticed in the art of coffee roasting, drinking coffee is an opportunity for rejuvenation. It is associated with the pleasures of socializing or solitude. As a child, Carlo recalls that when visiting friends or family, the host would always serve an espresso to welcome in guests. Or sometimes he remembers how his mother would sit quietly and take coffee in the afternoon as a break from the hustle and bustle of children and household duties.
Today that tradition still holds strong. Contrary to popular belief, espresso does not mean quick. This isn't "express." Espresso ought not to suggest that one who drinks it must rush through life. Rather, the word refers to the fact that this densely flavored brew is made "expressly" for one person and is crafted to be a refined expression of the essence of coffee itself.
We at Mr. Espresso remain committed to bringing you the best of this Old World tradition. We encourage our customers to take care, take time, and take pleasure in our coffees.
