Mr. Espresso has received numerous awards and praise over our long history.
Praise
December 2001 - We are proud of our inclusion in Chez Panisse's purveyor handbook published in celebration of its 30th anniversary. Chez Panisse wanted to highlight its commitment to "good food, community, and sustainability." In their own words, "Chez Panisse gathers its material from known and trusted purveyors, known to be committed themselves to sound and sustainable practices, and trusted to remain informed and responsive to these values in a rapidly changing society." August 2000 - Reviews from The Coffee Review continue to pay tribute to our coffees.
On our Gold Medal Blend: "The aroma is clean and high-toned with innuendo of fresh leather. The demitasse is
complex but controlled, with a classic balance of sweetness and bitterness." For more of this review, please

July 2000 - San Francisco Magazine named us "Best Wake-Up Call" in its annual review of the "Best of the Bay."
January 1999 - The Coffee Review's praise for our Espresso di Carlo: "A superb cappuccino espresso in San Francisco mode, this coffee is clean and elegant aroma with a shimmer of vanilla. Blooms beautifully in milk, softening without losing authority and revealing deep, dry, bittersweet chocolate tones." For more of the review, please

Awards
We are pleased to have received an award from the President of Costa Rica, Dr. Miguel Angel Rodriguez, for our continued support of his country's coffee industry. This recognition commends Mr. Espresso's long-term commitment to purchasing high quality beans direct from the people who produce them. This relationship stimulates innovative growing techniques and provides price stability, benefiting Costa Rican growers and Mr. Espresso coffee drinkers everywhere.
Mr. Espresso is proud to have been awarded 10 Gold Medals from the National Food Service Certification Chefs in America, including:

We also won First Place at the San Francisco Cappuccino Contest for three years running:
